I kinda hate that I blog hop a lot, and sometimes I want to move back to blogger, 'cause it's just easier to track lots of blogs I follow that way!

It's been awhile~

I haven't been using this for a lot of reasons, and debating deleting entries u.u.

Anyways, I think I might use this for events or notable adventures. It'll be a nice reminder when I'm old with bad memory xp Plus, I guess I don't like spamming my tumblr with text.

Goodbye 2010

First off,

Happy New Year Everyone!

2010 was an interesting year for me, but not as bad as 2009.

The beginning of 2009, I thought my life was falling apart, but luckily started to patch it up near the end.

2010 came, and it had it's ups and downs. It felt like what I tried to patch up in 2009 wasn't exactly fixed, as if there were cracks in the structure I built.

My year (good and bad):

• Was rather "giri giri" with things this year...
  
• Went to Siggraph, my first industry event really. Also had my first drink there (since it was free!) at the Houdini 11 launch party.
• Better understanding of people. It made me cynical, upset, and a bit angry, but also taught me to chill & just live life no matter what others say or don't say.
• Dated a guy I had a crush on since I started at the new school, but it ended badly & drained me.
  
• September was full of stress + a broken heart, which lead to me losing about 25 pounds in 2 weeks (yikes). This was probably my lowest point of the year.
• Picked up playing bass again
• Picked up dancing again
  
• Slowly tried to break out of my shell, and make major changes (inside and out) for better or worse.
• Learned the power of confidence - it really does make a difference! I kind of steered away from this the last week of December, but after being in good company for New Years, I remembered confidence makes you happier. It also keeps you from doubting yourself, and helps give you that extra push to take risks.
• Tried to be more like Summer (from 500 days of Summer), after being like Tom (same movie) my whole life.
  
• Met Mike out of the blue during a very strange & confusing time in my life.
• Made new friends

What I want to achieve this new year:

1. Be determined with everything I set out to do - I want to be successful! I need to give everything 110%! (school, art, pixel punch, health, zombie apocolypse prep...etc)
   
2. Try to be carefree & chill - Sometimes I can get a bit paranoid and think too much. I need to stop sweating the small stuff.
   
3. Take risks; be more adventurous - I'm young, and need to do more.
   
4. Be happy - I sometimes put myself down, and this leads me to be moody and unpleasant. I've also held in so much for so long, and I think I've reached the point in which it's too much to hold back. I apologize to anyone who has been around me when I'm a downer, but I thank those who stuck around.
   

I also got a tarrot card reading from my Noel tonight. It surprisingly did answer most of the things I was thinking about, as well as one thing I wasn't really thinking about (because I thought it was over with).

I hope this new year is amazing!

My Holiday

Ahhh I've been lazy! and there's a backlog of things. But here are the Holiday adventures.

The giant box was filled with the chocolates I made, and nutella (because I heard Mike's family never had Nutella!). I also placed balloons in the box, so when they opened the box balloons would float out and it would be magical (and it was)!

I spent Christmas Eve + day with the Allens. I met some of Mike's extended family on Christmas when we visited his Grandma (she called me sweet awww).

Gifts -

I don't really expect anything on Christmas, but I got things this year and I'm thankful!

1. Brother got me Scott Pilgrim
   
2. Mike got me a screen printing kit & a gun book (for art references, and for zombie apocalypse prepping). He knows me so well! ♥ I got him a new pc controller, and a chocobo plush.
3. Mike's family got me a cat book mark & a Barnes & Noble gift card!
   
4. Mike and I treated ourselves haha.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving

Opps. I've been busy, and a bit lazy to edit images. So, there's a line of random adventures.

I guess I'll start with the most recent thing, which was Thanks giving! I hope everyone had a nice one. I actually did something this year, and spent it with Mike's family (kind of).

Mike always joked (or maybe he was serious) about never letting me see his house, so I never really expected him to invite me.

We were actually eating at Mr. Ramen last week when this conversation happened:

He eventually invited me to Thanksgiving dinner with his family, and to be "American" (joke, because I'm Asian). I was all sunshine and bubbles while waiting for him to ask! haha.

He had beef ramen btw!

And I had chicken & bamboo ramen.

I was so nervous meeting them. I decided to make truffles, 'cause I think sweets are a safer way to go... since I'm not sure if they'll like anything else I cook.

Crushed oreos! I have one of those crazy Blendtec blenders. They're amazing!

Tempering chocolate always scares me... because something always goes wrong. I really need a thermometer...

Finished products! Well...atleast the nicer looking ones. I kept the "rejects" for my family to eat.

They didn't touch it when I was there, so I was afraid they didn't like it. They actually ate all of them within the 4 hours that Mike & I weren't there! I'm surprised they even ate the matcha ones!

Mike told me that his mom said I should make more for Christmas. Yay, possible acceptance???

Oh, and Mike & I saw this while driving to his place. Har har... I actually did go see Harry Potter, but that'll be another entry.

I'm sad the Thanksgiving break is over... There's 3 more weeks of school though, so winter break will be soon! But, before that there's finals and thus, it is now crunch time :(.

Update on the event! It was surpriingly fun! There were sooo many people, and I DIDN'T FIND ANYONE! A few of my friends went but I never saw them, that's how crazy packed it was! I was even supposed to drop by and say hi to Mandie of Geeky Glamorous, since she was a volunteer, but I couldn't find her either!

I did one of Michelle Phan's glasses make-up tutorials. I felt like a racoon...

but the glasses did help tone them down!

I also remembered I had a pair of goggles from Chemistry, since I used to want to be a biologist, but I decided not to wear them. I'm paranoid there's chemicals on them still...

I made these 8-bit hearts for Mike and myself! Since we're more so gamer-nerds.

Mike picked me up and we got there around 7. He looks so cute!

We had to wait till 8:30 pm

Mike let me keep both our bands. Smaller one is mine, because "Asians are tiny people", according to Mike.

We were lucky! Mike and I were the last two who got the free gift bag! Which made us 99 & 100! Mike is nice though, and he gave his bag to the girl behind us. He could have given it to me, but idk! It's all good! I'm not that selfish, and I probably would have given it to my friend Janet who couldn't make it to the event. Mike is a super good guy! Why am I so lucky to be dating a saint? haha.

I got the Sanrio Melt, and we shared some tater tots.

Sanrio Melt: Pesto marinated heirloom tomatoes, bacon, caramelized onions, cheese, on...bread. It was actually good. I would have even eaten it without the bacon xp.

CONFESSION!

I like Hello Kitty, but I'm not a crazy fan. The main reason why I wanted to go to this event was because of the chiptune artist! and it happened to be two of the artists I first listened to when I started getting into chiptunes two years ago! ComputeHer & 8bit Weapon. The crowd was rather small, since I guess most other people went mainly for Hello Kitty. Mike and I stayed the whole time watching them, and kind of felt like a creeper. But it was the exciting part of the event for me! haha

ComputerHer played Coco Kitty! That's one of the first songs I heard by her a few years ago! So I got excited haha. *nerdy fangirly moment*

8bit Weapon! Another first song from a few years back. I have this song but I can't think of the name atm.

I didn't realize till later, but it's Kalamari Kastle & Stephiee of Dolly Beast! (I feel like a creeper for knowing them too... but! They're friends of the event coordinators, plus my friend Janet has been following their adventures since highschool, so that's why I know of them!) They danced and drew in a crowd! I wish I wasn't so shy and could dance like them!

After their sets, we found them walking around. Mike and I wanted a picture with them,but that slipped our minds.

We got to talk to ComputeHer and she was super nice! and told us to keep in contact. We were so nervous and starstruck that we completely felt like lamers haha... but she was nice even though we probably were being awkward. I even didn't tell her how I've played her on my radio show when I used to DJ too!

After that, I decided I should make us business cards for Pixel Punch. I was so close to ripping off my pixel heart & giving it to her! haha. But, Mike pointed out it's good I didn't 'cause it's our first prototypes Xd. Plus it's his heart!

By Bei Bad Girl! She had another display too but I couldn't take a pic 'cause my batteries died D:. I saw her in person too, because you can't miss her silver hair! She's actually tiny and cute! I think a lot of the people I've mentioned on my blog so far are actually tiny! They seem so tall in their pictures! haha *weird*

I actually did buy something. I wanted to buy the Beard papa x Hello Kitty tote bag, but the shop was closing when I went to get one :(

I already knew I was going to buy these before I went into the pop-up shop. Haha. I also wanted the Chubby Bunny Hello Kitty bows, but felt bad using a lot of money... maybe next time!

We're going next week for the 80s Kitty in Pink Prom! because.... we both didn't go to our proms! and we were born at the end of the 80s!

After, we took purikura!

After we went to my place, and I serenaded him with my bass. Then he tried to learn to play bass. He got shy and embarrassed, but he's slowly learning!

He was supposed to drive home, but he was too tired and fell asleep in my bed. aww.

He eventually went home, and this is the conversation we had today (in relation to the 8bit heart):

omg, I swear we're soul mates! haha. Well, I'm just glad we're on the same page for a lot of things.
