My first flash animation

I think this is the first real "art"-related post since moving here from my wordpress. Anyways, I have to take a 2D animation class, because it's a big pre-req class for my major.

The assignment was to make one object transform into something else using "straight away".

This was probably my first real time using flash, and I know it could be better but I'm still kind of amused by it.

Photobucket
(It's a fishie, turning into a "clown bear". Bears really seem to be a big running joke now... that have now been incorporated in my school life. I can never escape them.)

My friend Ramon (aka: my "father" at school), asked why I was studying game art. He said I'd make a good animator.

Well, for one games have been real important to me. Plus, it's the only thing I've never fallen out of love with (for example, I used to want to be a comic artist and animator when I was younger, but that died near the end of high school).

PLUS... it took me roughly 4 HOURS just to make those 11 seconds run as "smoothly" as I could (and even then it could use more work). My hats off to those who do want to animate (like my friend Christineeee).

and before I forget the meme:

Day five: Six things you wish you’d never done.
  1. Lose sight of myself
  2. Open myself up to certain people
  3. Read the Count of Monte Cristo (because I follow a similar mindset to Edmond Dantes since reading that)
  4. Left Kevin to pursue Nick
  5. Believed every turn of events was like out of a movie, so it had to be fate
  6. Let my hormonal heart win over the biological rational heart
Most are kind of cliche. I may wish I've never done these things, but I guess I don't regret them, since they're learning experiences (no matter how tough they are/have been to deal with). I've grown a lot, and changed a bit, and learned.

I don't know why, but that scene in Scott Pilgrim pops in my head.

"I feel like I learned something, if only I weren't dead!"
Extra Life! (2nd wind)

Anywho, I'm pretty tired, and my throat has been irritated, and I have a slight annoying cough.

and you're right... past experiences are learning experiences... you can either use them to destroy you or use them to shape you into a better person. :)
